DR PAUL KOBAYASHI
My name is Paul Kobayashi and I am focused on providing high quality chiropractic healthcare to the local community in Blandford and across Dorset. As an enthusiastic and passionate Chiropractor, I am a firm believer that Chiropractic care is suitable for all ages. I, my wife Cathryn, daughter Ella and son Alex, have regular, monthly, chiropractic health checks.
I have a very keen interest in most sports and sports related injuries. In my youth rugby was my main passion having played locally for the school (Queen Elizabeth’s), club (Wimborne), and county; Dorset and Wiltshire at colts and U21 level. It was at this time that I first encountered the health benefits of Chiropractic, through regular adjustments.
Before setting up practice in Blandford in 2010, I consulted at private practices in Melrose (Scotland), Ascot (Buckinghamshire) and Bournemouth (Dorset).
I am registered with the General Chiropractic Council and a member of the British Chiropractic Association. I graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, gaining a Masters degree in Chiropractic (MChiro).

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
The word Chiropractic combines the greek word chiro (meaning hands) and praxis (meaning practice) to describe a treatment done by hand, this is central to chiropractic care.
Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the neuro musculoskeletal system (nerves, bones, joints and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous sytem and general health. Chiropractors use a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility.
Chiropractic care is a way of keeping healthy and being at your best, this applies for patients of all ages, who present with a range of acute and chronic conditions. As well as advice about self-help, exercise, diet and lifestyle, chiropractors can provide support for pain management, sports injuries and active rehabilitation.
Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession.
A Medical Research Council clinical trial and its follow-up, reported in the British Medical Journal in 1990 and 1995, found that chiropractic treatment of back pain was more effective than hospital outpatient treatment. The European Commission Acute Low Back Pain Guidelines includes manipulation as an effective treatment for
low back pain.
“Paul has treated me for the past 5 years taking a completely different and more holistic approach than I have previously received. The care and interest that Paul has taken in my treatment has produced results which have improved the quality of my life and this has all been done in a very friendly and relaxed manner. I am now maintaining a relatively pain free existence and see Paul for fine tuning to keep any aches
to a minimum.”
“Being a professional equestrian rider it is very important to me to keep my body fit and in shape. Chiropractic treatment is key in helping me achieve this. I was recommended by a friend to see Paul for some treatment to help with a couple of issues I was having at the time. After the first treatment I noticed a difference and was very pleased with how the session went. Since my first session with Paul I have been back several times and have noticed a huge improvement to how I sit in the saddle and how my horses are going! Thanks to Paul my body feels a lot better and I can now move freer and be without the pain and soreness I was experiencing before I met Paul.”
“I have been pleasantly surprised how Paul’s treatments have not only greatly improved the tension in my shoulders, neck and face but also improved my posture and general well-being. I now see Paul for regular monthly checks to maintain this. Treatments are carried out in comfortable, homely and friendly surroundings and following a thorough consultation and explanation. Having been a client of Paul’s now for over 2 years I would have no hesitation in recommending
“Paul has been treating me for over a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with the treatment that I receive. I have regular maintenance appointments which consist of a mixture of adjustments and massage on my neck and back, but know that if I need an emergency visit Paul can always fit me in. The thing that was most important to me after visiting a number of other Chiropractors in the past, is that Paul will determine treatment based on what you prefer as a patient – whereas my previous experience was that I was treated using the style that the Chiropractor thought best with no consulation as to what my preferences were, and what my body responded better to. I was recommended by a friend and have also recommended Paul’s practice to others and will continue to do so.”
